Most of our classes are held at a private residence in the Miami Springs neighborhood, located adjacent to the airport. Classes are commonly held outdoors and may sometimes be offered inside depending on weather conditions and group size.
The exact address will be provided the week of your class via email.
We also have the possibility of offering these classes at your location or at private restaurants for private functions.
What is the best way to arrive where the classes are held?
Transportation is not included with our experiences, but we are very centrally located in Miami Springs near the airport. Most of our guests drive (there is free parking out front), take an Uber/Lyft/Taxi, or even take public transportation (there is a bus stop half a block away).
We would be happy to provide the best suggestions based on your specific circumstances and where you will be staying.
What is your cancellation policy?
For individual bookings on our public experiences, you may cancel up to 48 hours in advance for a full refund. If you cancel within the 48 hours, you will not receive a refund as all ingredients have already been sourced for the class within this time frame.
For groups, there is a 50% deposit required for private classes which is non-refundable if the class is cancelled by you. Final payment is due 2 weeks prior to your class date and no refunds will be granted if cancelled within this period.
When are classes available?
Our public Cuban cooking classes are available on Saturdays at 4pm or 5 pm (depending on time of year).
Private classes for classes listed on our website or any custom requests are available any other day of the week and can be arranged for as little as 1 person and as many as 35, depending on availability.
What if I have a private group, can you accommodate us?
We work very frequently with private groups and can create customized experiences for social groups, corporate retreats, team building, bachelorette parties, baby showers, birthdays, anniversaries, date nights and more!
Give us a call or email us with your ideas and dates so we can create something just for you!
If it rains, will the class be cancelled?
Most of our classes are held outside in our backyard oasis and, depending on group size, they may also be in a covered outdoor area or indoors. Based on the time of year and group size, we will notify you if we are unable to accommodate due to weather, in which case you will receive a full refund.
What is included in your cooking classes?
Our standard cooking classes offer at least a 3-course meal and/or a selection of 3 to 4 tapas. Some of the menu items will be cooked as a group with the help of one of our instructors and some items may be prepared in advance. Our goal is to have you truly experience an authentic meal with us. We provide hands on opportunities throughout the evening, historical and cultural tidbits to help you appreciate the cuisine, and also send you home with recipes so you can recreate the menu items when you get home.
All of our classes also include cocktails or other libations typical of the cuisines we are sharing with you
What if I have dietary restrictions?
Please let us know as soon as you book with us so that we can get creative and offer other menu items that will fit your dietary needs. We are able to offer vegetarian, gluten-free, pescatarian, sugar-free, and can also omit using specific ingredients if you have allergies.
We are happy to accommodate you!
What if I do not drink alcohol?
Please let us know as soon as you book so that we can offer non-alcoholic varieties, including virgin cocktails, fresh juices and other typical drinks.
Are children able to attend the classes?
Children 12 and over are more than welcome at our events with adult supervision. We ask that parents look after their kids so that there is minimal disruption to the class. Depending on child’s age we may not be able to allow them to participate in the cooking but let us know if they are coming along so that we can create something fun for the, too!
